The Indiana University Foundation is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its Investment Department. This mission-driven organization focuses on making higher education attainable and requires a dedicated professional to support thoughtful portfolio stewardship of the University’s endowment through research, analysis, and clear reporting.
What You'll Do
- Help manage the IU Foundation’s Pooled Long-Term Fund.
- Monitor managers across public and private markets.
- Contribute research on new investment strategies.
- Collaborate with accounting, custodians, consultants, and investment managers.
- Join introductory meetings with investment firms.
- Build presentations on asset classes, liquidity, and market topics.
- Maintain quarterly summaries in the research management system.
- Coordinate and document manager meetings and onsite visits.
- Support the annual audit with timely data.
- Review monthly pricing reports.
- Take primary coverage for a subset of managers as you progress.
- Lead onsite diligence.
- Assist with manager searches from outreach through evaluation.
- Help source new opportunities that strengthen the portfolio.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong grasp of investment concepts, including portfolio construction, asset allocation, liquidity, and risk management across public and private markets.
- Proficiency analyzing manager materials and financial statements, with the ability to evaluate fund performance and valuation metrics accurately.
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, comfort building dashboards, custom reports, and ad hoc analyses.
- Clear and concise communicator with strong writing and presentation skills for internal and external audiences.
- Organized self-starter who manages multiple priorities independently while meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
- Collaborative teammate with sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion.
- High ethical standards, intellectual curiosity, proactive problem solving, and a growth mindset.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- 2 or more years of investment experience at an endowment, pension, OCIO or consultant, or wealth manager.
- Enrolled CFA candidate.
- Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualization tools.
- Experience with investment analytics or portfolio reporting platforms, such as MSCI Total Plan, or a research management system.

This is a hybrid position based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
