CVS Health is hiring a Hybrid-Remote Medical Scribe for Arizona residents only. In this role with Oak Street Health, you will support primary care providers by handling clinical documentation, allowing them to focus on patient care. This is a paid, practical opportunity for individuals seeking experience before applying to medical or health-related programs.
What You'll Do
- Document patient encounters in structured notes, including history, assessment, plan, and physical exam.
- Assign appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes.
- Prepare After Visit Summaries.
- Consult with providers to ensure accurate and specific documentation.
- Request and review medical records.
- Leverage population health tools to support clinical documentation improvement.
- Prepare for and support Daily Huddles and Clinical Documentation Reviews.
- Place orders and referrals.
- Address tasks and support the care team with additional responsibilities related to clinical documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications from a pre-medical degree or prior clinical experience.
- Advanced listening and communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new technical workflows.
- Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by local communities (required where indicated).
- Ability to adapt to new workflows and learn new concepts quickly.
- Ability and willingness to take direction and be a team member, adapting to the provider's working style.
- Excellent job attendance, including ability to work in-person in clinics.
- Ability to commit to at least 1 year in role.
- Ability to work approximately 40-45 hours per week during clinic hours (full time) with predictable hours.
- Compliance with hospital and Oak Street Health policies, including HIPAA.
- US work authorization.
Nice to Have
- Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering.
- Prior scribe or transcription experience.
- Ability to type 70+ words per minute.
