About the Role
The technician will diagnose system issues, perform routine maintenance, and complete repairs on HVAC equipment while adhering to safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC units according to design specifications
- Inspect systems for operational efficiency and safety compliance
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions
- Perform seasonal maintenance on heating and cooling units
- Repair or replace defective components in HVAC systems
- Test system performance using diagnostic tools
- Follow building codes and environmental regulations
- Document service activities and customer interactions
- Respond to emergency service requests promptly
- Educate clients on proper system usage and maintenance
- Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA standards
- Maintain service vehicle and equipment inventory
- Coordinate service schedules with dispatchers
- Ensure work areas are clean and safe
- Use hand and power tools for system assembly and repair
- Interpret blueprints and technical schematics
- Calibrate thermostats and control systems
- Support apprentices and junior technicians
- Recommend system upgrades or replacements
- Comply with personal protective equipment requirements
Nice to Have
- Experience with ductless mini-split systems
- NATE certification
- HVAC license in applicable states
- Experience with smart thermostat integration
- Customer satisfaction awards or recognition
- Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of energy efficiency standards
- Experience in new construction environments

- Additional trade certifications
