The Human Resources Generalist plays a central role in maintaining effective HR operations across a dynamic healthcare organization. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, offering practical guidance on policies, performance management, and workplace concerns while ensuring compliance and consistency.
What You'll Do
- Respond to HR inquiries and triage incoming requests, providing timely and accurate support.
- Advise managers on employee relations matters, including performance challenges and disciplinary actions.
- Assist with job changes, organizational updates, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Follow up on performance improvement plans, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to timelines.
- Guide managers through the performance review cycle, from preparation to completion tracking.
- Process employment changes such as role transitions, salary adjustments, and schedule modifications.
- Maintain up-to-date personnel files and conduct regular audits for accuracy and compliance.
- Update and distribute the Employee Handbook and ensure HR policies reflect current practices.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for key HR processes, including onboarding and probation periods.
- Train leadership teams on HR policies and procedures to promote consistent application.
- Oversee leave administration and support workers’ compensation case management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and internal requirements across all HR documentation.
- Manage employee data within HRIS platforms and support accurate recordkeeping.
- Collaborate with recruiting on offer logistics and integration during organizational growth phases.
- Generate routine reports and track key HR metrics to inform operational decisions.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in human resources, preferably within healthcare, clinical, or multi-site environments.
- Proven experience in employee relations, HR operations, or compliance-related functions.
- Strong organizational abilities with close attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills and a service-focused approach to internal support.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working in California or Arizona healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with leave management, workers’ comp, or regulatory compliance workflows.
- HR certification or coursework (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Work Mode
This is a hybrid position with approximately 80% remote flexibility. Periodic onsite presence is required at clinics in the Los Angeles area, with occasional travel to locations in San Diego and Scottsdale.
