About the Role

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring an HR Payroll Analyst to manage accurate payroll operations and ensure compliance across multiple U.S. states. In this remote role, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll process, maintain precise records, and collaborate closely with HR and finance to ensure data integrity and timely execution.

What You'll Do

  • Process biweekly or semi-monthly payroll for employees across multiple U.S. states, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Maintain payroll records and reports according to legal requirements and company policies.
  • Set up and manage employee payroll information, including tax withholdings, benefits deductions, direct deposits, garnishments, and bonuses.
  • Liaise with finance and HR to validate payroll inputs and maintain consistent data across systems.
  • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and support month-end and year-end payroll closings.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, coordinating with external vendors when necessary.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees in relation to payroll and HR documentation.
  • Support benefits administration including enrollments, deductions, and updates.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, or administrative procedures.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for management and support ad hoc HR and operational tasks.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, particularly multi-state U.S. payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across HR, finance, and operational teams.
