Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a HR Payroll Analyst (Remote - US)

Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly or semi-monthly payroll for employees across multiple U.S. states, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Maintain payroll records and reports according to legal requirements and company policies.
  • Set up and manage employee payroll information, including tax withholdings, benefits deductions, direct deposits, garnishments, and bonuses.
  • Liaise with finance and HR to validate payroll inputs and maintain consistent data across systems.
  • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and support month-end and year-end payroll closings.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, coordinating with external vendors when necessary.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees in relation to payroll and HR documentation.
  • Support benefits administration including enrollments, deductions, and updates.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, or administrative procedures.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for management and support ad hoc HR and operational tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, particularly multi-state U.S. payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across HR, finance, and operational teams.
