Constance Hospitality Management is hiring a Housekeeping Attendant to join our luxury resort team in Mauritius. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and service in guest rooms and public areas, directly contributing to our exceptional guest experience.
What You'll Do
- Perform general cleaning of guest rooms, including removing dirty linen and trash, and replacing amenities.
- Fulfill additional guest requests such as extra beds, amenities, or loaned items.
- Provide customer service as per the standards of the Constance group.
- Liaise with Housekeeping staff to ensure incoming guest requirements are met.
- Deal with all guest queries and complaints swiftly and efficiently.
- Check all electrical appliances (lamps, hair dryers, telephone, mini-bar, TV, air-con, safe, etc.).
- Check all other technical aspects such as door locks, blackout, shower, hot-cold water, WC flush, blinds, and curtains.
- Manage stock of pantry and trolley.
- Adhere to dress, appearance, and conduct codes established by the hotel.
- Monitor the progress of trainees to keep the training Housekeeper informed.
- Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy.
- Adhere to fire alarm or any emergency statutory procedures in the event of fire.
- Maintain Health and Safety practices, including avoiding hazardous habits and using correct materials and equipment.
- Promote Energy efficiency & Environment and identify improvements to support the Green Globe Policy.
- Report anything considered a Health & Safety hazard, all accidents, and anything or anyone suspicious.
- Sign in and out for keys and return all keys and worksheet after work.
What We're Looking For
- Middle or Secondary Education.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in the hotel industry.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Superb customer service skills.
- Able to resolve guest complaints and queries promptly and politely.
- Must have detailed knowledge of, and comply with, all housekeeping policies, procedures, and standards.
- Fluency in English or another language, with written and verbal communication.
- Time management skills.
Nice to Have
- Additional training or certificates in the relevant field.
- Proven experience working in a top luxury resort.
- Experience working in remote island locations.
- Experience using industrial cleaning equipment and products.
- Knowledge of a second language.
