Supervise and manage heavy maintenance operations for transport category aircraft through third-party vendors, ensuring all work adheres to Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and manufacturer specifications. Serve as the primary liaison between internal maintenance control and external repair stations, overseeing aircraft induction, modification, and repair activities from start to completion.
What You'll Do
- Directly supervise heavy maintenance events at vendor locations, verifying compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Act as the official representative during maintenance visits, authorizing airworthiness releases and performing RII inspections
- Monitor work quality, materials used, and documentation practices to ensure adherence to FAA standards and company procedures
- Track aircraft status, communicate estimated return times, and coordinate movement logistics with internal teams
- Review and validate vendor invoices, approving non-routine costs and ensuring alignment with budget and contract terms
- Oversee accurate completion of aircraft records, computer data entry, and required regulatory forms
- Collaborate with FAA inspectors and Designated Airworthiness Representatives during conformity and aging aircraft evaluations
- Support planning for future maintenance checks and recommend improvements to maintenance programs
- Verify completion of airworthiness directives and prepare aircraft records for operational reintegration
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Part 121 or transport category aircraft maintenance or quality inspection
- At least 5 years focused on heavy maintenance for Part 121 heavy transport aircraft
- Five or more years of hands-on experience with A320 and 737MAX aircraft types
- Three years of experience managing teams or working independently in remote settings
- Successful completion of A320 and 737MAX general familiarization training
- Ability to travel 75%–80% of the time to various maintenance locations
- Valid passport and driver’s license
- Eligibility to obtain airport SIDA badge and pass a background check
- Recent experience exercising certificate privileges within the past 24 months, or FAA approval for lapsed activity
- Proficiency with technical manuals, precision measurement tools, and computer-based data systems
