Hato Hone St John is looking for a dedicated volunteer to join our community service as a Health Shuttle Driver and Assistant. You will be part of a vital service that makes over 90,000 trips per year, transporting people to and from essential medical and health-related appointments on a koha (donation) basis. This role is highly customer focused and requires a commitment to providing excellent, compassionate service.
What You'll Do
- Drive a St John Shuttle vehicle to transport clients to and from essential medical and health related appointments.
- Ensure clients safely reach their appointments on time.
- Provide minimal assistance to clients, which requires a good level of physical fitness.
What We're Looking For
- You have held a full and clean New Zealand Drivers Licence for at least 12 months.
- You can commit to one shift rostered per week or fortnight.
- You have excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- You are friendly, caring, and compassionate, with a genuine interest in the well-being of others.
- You have an aptitude for diverse cultures.
- You are physically fit.
- You can satisfactorily complete pre-employment checks including Police checks, driver checks, and medical clearance.
- You can meet the St John medical standards for driving roles.
- You can complete a full Police vetting as per the Children's Act 2014.
