HERO Software is looking for a Head of Production (all genders) to take responsibility for overall production control and operational excellence at our fast-growing beauty and pro-aging company. In this central leadership role, you will steer processes, develop teams, drive innovation, and ensure quality in every detail, contributing to our mission to create glow moments.
What You'll Do
- Plan, steer, and control the entire production process from materials and personnel to daily operations.
- Continuously optimize processes and interfaces to increase efficiency and transparency.
- Lead innovation projects for new machinery from needs assessment and budgeting to successful commissioning.
- Be responsible for technical project planning, including creation of requirement specifications, test runs, and integration into the existing machine park.
- Lead and develop a high-performing, motivated multicultural production team.
- Create a safe, hygienic, and supportive work environment where everyone feels comfortable and can grow.
- Ensure compliance with all food law, hygiene, and calibration requirements.
- Prepare the team for audits and introduce/develop relevant quality standards such as IFS Food.
- Create and monitor production and investment budgets.
- Establish KPI-supported controlling for data-based decision-making and identification of savings potential.
- Organize and ensure the quality of internal training on machine operation, hygiene requirements, and safety standards for production staff.
- Document, maintain, and further develop processes and work instructions (SOPs) to ensure consistent production processes.
- Coordinate and supervise external service providers such as technicians or maintenance partners for maintenance intervals, repairs, and upkeep measures.
- Support quality management in preparing for audits and certifications like IFS, Bio, or HACCP.
- Monitor resource consumption like electricity and water and contribute to sustainability initiatives to ensure energy efficiency and environmental standards.
What We're Looking For
- Completed degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, food technology, or a comparable technical field.
- Alternatively, a technical apprenticeship with a master craftsman's certificate and extensive operational leadership experience.
- 8–12 years of professional experience in food or food production.
- Demonstrable experience in project management, process optimization, and production control.
- Lead with clarity and team spirit, even in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
- Negotiation-fluent spoken and written German and English.
- Proficient use of ERP systems and project management tools like Asana or friday.
