Carl Zeiss Vision Canada Inc. is looking for a Head of Marketing to shape and execute national, downstream marketing and distribution strategies for Carl Zeiss Meditec's Surgical Field of Business in the United States. In this leadership role, you will support sales management, oversee budgeting and revenue planning, and direct all U.S. marketing activities for this business segment.
What You'll Do
- Direct the U.S. Field of Business Marketing organization to achieve annual sales and profit plans.
- Assist in developing the market plan and execute its local implementation.
- Develop relationships with Field of Business Leadership, Business Sector Leadership, and product development teams.
- Contribute to new product development plans and programs, including successful product launches.
- Plan, organize, staff, train, and develop marketing personnel.
- Develop, implement, and manage the annual budget, compensation plans, and motivational programs for the department.
- Interact with all levels of the organization, customers, KOLs, vendors, and industry competitors.
- Manage Product Marketing Managers.
- Plan, organize, and conduct meetings and discussion groups, including annual and interim sales management meetings.
- Develop and manage promotional plans and materials for major trade shows.
- Support the Sales organization in managing and maintaining direct and distributor networks.
- Identify and develop new local strategic alliances to broaden commercial opportunities.
- Capitalize on fresh revenue opportunities within the distribution channel.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 12 years of progressive marketing and sales/sales management experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of personnel management experience.
- Capital equipment experience in the medical / surgical setting (e.g., Neurosurgery, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental).
- Strong direct and distributor sales/'downstream marketing' experience.
- Strong marketing leadership and decision-making skills.
- Successful experience managing and leading professional staff.
- Polished oral presentation and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to clearly communicate policy decisions, company strategy, and vision.
- Experienced knowledge of financial analysis and analysis tools (i.e., spreadsheets).
- Organizational agility to work across functions, business sectors, customers, and markets.
- Experience and awareness of working in multi-cultural businesses.
Nice to Have

- Experience preferably in the medical device industry.
- Distributor management experience.
- Visualization systems experience.
- Experience in other functional areas: product marketing, product development, sales, finance, and other customer-facing roles.
