As Head of Logistics, you will establish and direct a global logistics framework that supports the rapid, compliant, and reliable transport of biological materials. This role is central to scaling operations, ensuring thousands of weekly international shipments meet strict regulatory and time-sensitive requirements. You will design systems that reduce delays, control costs, and improve service resilience across diverse regions and regulatory landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead a global logistics team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Create scalable logistics infrastructure to support high-volume, temperature-sensitive shipments across international borders.
- Develop compliance protocols for import/export, customs clearance, and regulated material handling in alignment with IATA, DOT, and FDA standards.
- Design contingency and business continuity plans to maintain shipment integrity during disruptions.
- Implement performance dashboards to track delivery times, success rates, and risk indicators, using data to guide decisions.
- Partner with operations, product, and customer-facing teams to forecast demand and support new market entries.
- Manage carrier relationships to improve first-mile and international shipping performance, balancing cost and reliability.
- Lead hiring, training, and development of logistics personnel through periods of growth and change.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years in logistics or supply chain, with direct experience in international shipping and first-mile transport, particularly for biological or temperature-sensitive goods.
- Proven ability to design and scale logistics systems in regulated environments such as biotech, life sciences, or healthcare.
- Deep familiarity with customs regulations, export compliance, and international shipping frameworks.
- Strong data analysis skills, with experience deploying logistics software to improve visibility and performance.
- Track record of leading teams through expansion and operational change.
- Experience collaborating across functions to deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Strategic thinker who identifies potential issues and builds preventive systems.
