Glean is hiring a Head of Field Marketing

As Head of Field Marketing, Japan, you will shape and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy tailored to the Japanese market. Based in Tokyo, you'll align go-to-market plans with regional revenue goals, focusing on high-priority industries and ideal customer profiles. Your initiatives will span demand generation, account-based marketing, events, and partner co-marketing to accelerate pipeline growth and strengthen brand presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the quarterly marketing calendar, setting measurable objectives for awareness, lead flow, and revenue contribution.
  • Lead integrated digital campaigns—paid media, organic content, webinars, and nurture streams—localized for Japanese audiences and buyer journeys.
  • Orchestrate field marketing efforts, including participation in major industry events, executive roundtables, and proprietary customer programs that generate qualified sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with global and regional partners to co-develop campaigns, messaging, and go-to-market strategies with hyperscalers, system integrators, and resellers.
  • Oversee the localization of digital assets, including the Japanese website, solution pages, case studies, and campaign landing pages, ensuring technical precision and brand consistency.
  • Design and scale 1:1 and 1:few ABM programs for strategic accounts, combining personalized content, executive engagement, and targeted outreach to accelerate deal velocity.
  • Launch and manage public relations and communications in Japan, building media relationships and crafting narratives that position the company as a leader in enterprise AI.
  • Establish customer marketing programs that highlight success stories, build advocacy, and support sales with credible, relatable references.
  • Implement marketing operations frameworks for forecasting, lead management, attribution, and performance reporting, working closely with sales to track pipeline impact.
  • Manage external agencies and gradually build a local marketing team, fostering a culture of agility, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion secure, responsible AI adoption in enterprise environments, translating technical capabilities into tangible business outcomes for Japanese decision-makers.

Performance Metrics

Success will be measured by sourced and influenced pipeline against target, growth in net new sales-qualified leads, engagement lift in target accounts, event-driven opportunity conversion, digital campaign efficiency (CPL, conversion rates), and overall brand momentum in key sectors.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of B2B marketing experience in Japan, with at least 4 years in leadership roles at enterprise SaaS or technology platform companies.
  • Proven ability to own regional P&L and deliver measurable pipeline and revenue impact across multiple marketing disciplines.
  • Native fluency in Japanese and strong business English; comfortable presenting and writing for executive audiences in both languages.
  • Deep understanding of how to adapt global messaging for Japanese enterprises, simplifying complex AI and platform concepts into clear business value.
  • Hands-on operator with startup mindset—able to build programs from the ground up, iterate quickly, and thrive in fast-moving environments.
  • Proficient in marketing technology stacks including Salesforce, Marketo, 6sense, Demandbase, LinkedIn, Google, and event platforms.
  • Strong collaborator with Sales, Product Marketing, Partners, and Global Communications, known for clear communication and ownership.
  • Passionate about AI and its transformative potential in knowledge-intensive industries.

Preferred Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; MBA is a plus.

Work Environment

This role is based in Japan with remote flexibility. Candidates must have legal work authorization in the country and be willing to travel domestically for events and customer engagements (approximately 25%).
