About the Role

Prematch is seeking a Head of Engineering, Americas to lead the significant scaling of our engineering team in the region. You will manage a remote team of engineers and engineering managers, growing it from 20 engineers and 2 EMs to 40 engineers and 5-6 EMs within the next year. Your mission is to preserve and scale our unique, high-autonomy, high-leverage engineering culture as we grow from 50 engineers to 100 and beyond.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with the VP of Engineering and the Head of EMEA Engineering to scale our unique engineering culture.
  • Manage a remote team of 20 engineers and 2 engineering managers, growing to 40 engineers and 5-6 EMs in the next year.
  • Be a critical part of figuring out how to scale the engineering methods from 50 engineers to 100 and beyond.
  • Ease into leadership over the first three months, including shipping some product changes and features to learn the IC workflow.
  • Conduct 30-day, 60-day, 90-day, and 6-month reviews with the VP of Engineering to calibrate on culture and working relationships.

  • Has managed other managers (engineering managers).

  • Could have been or was a Principal engineer.
  • Thrives with a team of engineers who have high ownership and autonomy.
  • Believes staff and principal engineers lead by example and leverage.
  • Is optimistic about building a large engineering team that functions differently from the status quo.

Team & Environment

You will report to the Co-Founder and VP of Engineering and manage engineers and engineering managers. You will work closely with the VP of Engineering and the Head of EMEA Engineering. The Americas team is currently 20 engineers and 2 EMs, scaling to 40 engineers and 5-6 EMs.
