About the Role

Environment Bank is looking for a Habitat Delivery Specialist to join our mission to restore natural habitats across England. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering habitat creation and enhancement projects safely, on-time and to budget. You'll work closely with ecologists and land managers to plan and deliver a variety of habitat works and continue managing the success of habitat banks across the national nature network.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver habitat creation and enhancement projects safely, on-time and to budget.
  • Work closely with ecologists and land managers to plan and deliver habitat creation works across your region.
  • Create and enhance a range of habitats including woodland and scrub, species rich grassland, wetland, and associated infrastructure.
  • Manage the success of habitat banks across the national nature network.
  • Review ecology design for successful implementation.
  • Write or review the management section of Habitat Management Plans and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans.
  • Provide activity schedules to the project manager for programme building.
  • Write specifications for key materials (e.g., seed, fencing) for the project manager to procure.
  • Meet contractors on site, set them to work, and manage contractor KPIs.
  • Review Construction Phase Plans, delivery methodology, and provide input to the project risk register.

What We're Looking For

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject OR equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of habitat creation/restoration and management.
  • A track record of delivering nature recovery projects.
  • Experience of working within a budget and within a set time frame.
  • Experience of working directly with farmers and/or landowners in a professional capacity.
  • Experience of working with contractors.

Nice to Have

  • A Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH/IOSH).
  • Full UK clean driving license and willingness to travel for regional site visits and events.
  • Experience in rural land management.

Work Mode

This is a hybrid role based in the Midlands region (covering Oxford to Bedford) or Surrey/Kent.
