Coinbase is hiring a Group Product Manager to build AI/ML-powered automation for its compliance technology platform. In this role, you will be central to defining procedures, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and leading a team focused on automating compliance functions to increase efficiency and accuracy.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Compliance, CX Operations, and Engineering to define AI-friendly procedures, approval frameworks, and go-live criteria
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships across Engineering Technology, Compliance leadership, CX leadership, and Platform Product Groups
- Define and track key metrics including automation rate, false positive reduction, case quality, and cost savings
- Navigate regulatory constraints including SAR confidentiality requirements, GDPR, and AI governance policies
- Build and lead a small PM team (1-2 direct reports) focused on Compliance Automation execution
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of product management experience, with significant experience in AI/ML-powered automation, compliance technology, or operational automation
- Experience leading large, complex cross-functional programs with multiple workstreams and stakeholders
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to partner effectively with ML engineers and understand agentic AI architectures
- Experience with regulated environments (fintech, banking, AML/BSA) and navigating compliance approval processes
- Demonstrated ability to drive executive-level alignment and communicate with senior leadership (VP+, Executive Team)
- Experience managing managers or leading PM teams
- Strong analytical skills with experience defining success metrics, tracking glidepaths, and course-correcting based on data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce exec-level documents and presentations
Nice to Have
- Experience with Transaction Monitoring Systems (TMS), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), or SAR filing processes
- Background in Trust & Safety, Fraud, or Financial Crimes operations
- Experience with agentic AI, LLMs, or reasoning models in production environments
- Crypto, blockchain, or fintech experience
- Experience leading programs with significant cost-savings or headcount reduction targets
Team & Environment
You will build and lead a small PM team of 1-2 direct reports. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Compliance, CX Operations, and Engineering to execute on compliance automation initiatives.

- Compensation range: $243,865—$286,900 USD
