Carilion Clinic is looking for a Group Exercise Instructor to teach engaging and safe fitness classes for Carilion Wellness. In this role, you will motivate members to achieve their fitness goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
What You'll Do
- Teach group exercise classes for Carilion Wellness.
- Use correct exercise technique for class teaching.
- Project a friendly and positive attitude.
- Teach safe, effective and motivational exercise classes using guidelines established by the department.
- Attend workshops and incorporate new materials into individual classes as needed.
- Ensure facility cleanliness after use.
- Maintain a satisfactory score on performance and fitness evaluations.
- Motivate members to keep exercising and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
What We're Looking For
- Basic knowledge of health and fitness.
- Must possess a Carilion Wellness approved group exercise certification prior to hire (e.g. Les Mills, Zumba, Barre Above, or a certification from an NCCA-accredited or NBFE approved organization).
- Ability to instruct exercises in a confident manner to a group of people.
- Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body as it relates to exercise and safety precautions.
