About the Role

People in Need is hiring a Grants Development Advisor for Eastern Partnership and Balkans to provide expert support for evidence-based proposal development. This role is integral to strengthening programmes by securing funding from key EU programmes.

What You'll Do

  • Assist country programs in identifying grant opportunities under specific EU programs and contribute to diversification of funding.
  • Support the preparation and update of country program fundraising strategy.
  • Support country programs with positioning towards donors and meetings with donor representatives.
  • Support country teams in deciding which opportunities to pursue based on strategies and capacities.
  • Support CP teams with preparation of assessments and stakeholder mapping.
  • Lead or support the proposal-writing process and assist with full and timely submission of proposals.
  • Build capacity of the grants development team and provide on-the-job coaching in proposal writing.
  • Maintain a database of project proposals and prepare statistics on regional success rates.
  • Promote experience-sharing within the region.
  • Promote utilization of internal knowledge, learning, and evaluation findings in new proposals.
  • Prepare and promote new tools focused on improvement of proposal design and programme development process.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 3 years of experience in grants development.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the humanitarian and development sector.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent knowledge of compliance regulations and requirements of institutional donors.
  • Proven experience in proposal writing and reporting for humanitarian and development donors.
  • Experience working with EU donors CERV, Erasmus+, LIFE, Horizon, and CREA.
  • Strong knowledge of project cycle management, logical frameworks, and results-based management approaches.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with different PIN departments.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to anticipate challenges and propose solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in grant documentation and reporting.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality in grant documentation and reporting.

Nice to Have

  • Relevant academic background in humanitarian aid, development studies, or related fields.
  • Experience working under a service contract as an expert or advisor in a similar role with another international organization.

Team & Environment

Works in close collaboration with Heads of Programmes, Grant Development Coordinators, and M&E teams in country programmes. Reports to the Deputy Regional Director Eastern Partnership and Balkans.

This is a remote position.
