ProSource360 Consulting Services, Inc is hiring a Grant/Research Writer to provide critical support for securing funding and managing research proposals. You will focus on Aerospace Medicine, Human Performance Research, and Expeditionary Medicine, directly supporting the research requirements of the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS).
What You'll Do
- Provide professional research support for AFMS requirements, interfacing with leadership, staff, subject matter experts, and DoD professionals.
- Edit and format technical documents, presentations, brochures, manuals, and journal articles following established guidelines.
- Proofread, revise, and consult on research proposals, clarifying technical material as required.
- Draft a wide range of materials, including research proposals, white papers, scientific abstracts, manuscripts, technical reports, and presentations tailored to specific audiences.
- Coordinate project activities with investigators and maintain an activity tracking system.
- Research potential funding sources, develop opportunity databases, and maintain contact with external agencies.
- Submit proposals for external funding and serve as the point of contact for all follow-on requirements.
- Assist in the technical review of research proposals submitted for funding consideration.
- Attend and participate in meetings with government, civilian, and academic organizations.
- Conduct scientific literature reviews.
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in a biological or health sciences field.
- Minimum five (5) years authoring Defense budget policies, strategic guidance, and messaging to Congress.
- Minimum five (5) years authoring roadmaps, user manuals (SOP), white papers, senior/legislative proposals and briefings, tutorials, and web content.
- 5+ years of research and/or technical writing and editing for research proposals, grants, technical reports, white papers, and peer-reviewed manuscripts.
- Research experience in at least one of: Force Health Protection, Human Performance, Expeditionary Medicine, or Aeromedical Evacuation/Critical Care Air Transport (AE/CCAT).
- Experience with Air Force and/or AFRL reporting format requirements.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office: Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and in teams with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, initiative, and professional communication.
- Ability to translate ideas into coherent written proposals and collaborate with researchers from various disciplines.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in scientific, grant, or technical writing within a research or academic environment.
- Understanding of human research techniques, data analysis, and familiarity with military medicine or human performance research.
- Experience working within a military environment.
- Experience with the patent applicant process.
