Gartner is hiring a Writer to join our Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group. In this role, you will create, condense, and revise fact-based business content tailored for executive audiences, producing must-have research that delivers clear and actionable insights.
What You'll Do
- Plan and write must-have research for Gartner's Business and Technology Insights group.
- Create content following defined processes, including gathering materials, drafting, rewriting analysts' work, conducting interviews, and orchestrating reviews.
- Write with the reader in mind, aiming for substantive simplicity and clarity.
- Review and revise drafts for quality and client value, incorporating stakeholder feedback.
- Utilize approved AI tools to support and accelerate the writing process.
- Manage and progress work through Gartner's content management system, ensuring timely progress against milestones.
- Work with writing management and the BTI practice to prioritize impactful projects, including major research like Magic Quadrants.
- Ensure draft research follows Gartner's editorial style, standards, and format, focusing on client utility, brevity, and concision.
- Provide input for company-wide writing and editing standards and processes.
- Share and solve cross-departmental challenges and apply best practices related to writing and publishing.
- Verify facts, dates, and statistics using standard reference sources.
- Work with other teams and stakeholders to improve overall workflow processes, procedures, and systems.
- Coach subject matter experts on writing best practices, storytelling, and publishing process requirements.
- Engage in continuous training to improve writing skills and business acumen.
What We're Looking For
- Three or more years of professional writing experience, preferably with fact-based business content.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Liberal Arts, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to learn and understand new concepts quickly.
- Ability to collaborate on draft content with subject matter experts and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to distill meaning from graphics and numerical data.
- Ability to manage diverse projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) style.
