Nordex SE is hiring a Graduate Engineer Trainee for Production to join our team in Vengal, Tiruvallur. This role provides a foundation in manufacturing processes, supporting daily production activities and process improvements to build technical capability for future engineering roles.
What You'll Do
- Support daily production activities on the shop floor and understand the complete manufacturing workflow, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Monitor production parameters, machine performance, and process compliance.
- Assist in manpower allocation, shift planning, and WIP monitoring, ensuring timely escalation of production issues.
- Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S improvement activities.
- Conduct Time & Motion studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks.
- Work with senior engineers on process optimization and waste reduction.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, support root cause analysis for non-conformities, and participate in quality audits.
- Maintain production documentation, quality records, and prepare daily production reports (DPR).
- Track productivity KPIs such as OEE, cycle time, rejection percentage, and throughput.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, and Planning teams for data accuracy and production continuity.
- Follow all safety protocols, participate in safety audits, and ensure safe work practices.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for breakdown follow-up and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Support cross-functional improvement projects assigned by the manager.
What We're Looking For
- A B.E./B.Tech in Industrial Engineering or Production Engineering.
- A fresher with 0–1 year of experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a good understanding of manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and industrial engineering tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and basic data analysis.
- Willingness to work in shifts (if required) and on the shop floor.
