The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is hiring a Government Operations Consultant I (Graphic Designer) to join MyFlorida (Department of Management Services). You will provide creative design services for interpretive projects serving the Division of Recreation and Parks and Florida State Parks. Your work in visual storytelling will directly support the mission of providing resource-based recreation while preserving, interpreting, and restoring Florida's natural and cultural resources.
What You'll Do
- Apply professional experience to theme-driven design projects that enhance visitor understanding and appreciation of Florida's resources.
- Develop graphic layouts for interpretive content, including museum exhibits, signs, print materials, infographics, reports, presentations, and digital media.
- Collaborate successfully with team members from various disciplines while maintaining design quality.
- Lead multiple projects through all workflow stages: research, content development, design, production, distribution, and evaluation.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Prepare procurement and production files for assigned interpretive projects.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of successful interpretive products and resources.
- Design graphic design training materials and presentations for staff.
- Provide graphic design and product expertise when reviewing work done by staff, vendors, or partners.
- Travel statewide for meetings, trainings, site visits, and project coordination as required.
- Assist with program operations and support other bureau functions as assigned.
