Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, an industry leader in business aviation, seeks a Completions Designer III to create detailed design drawings that meet customer specifications and support our completion operations. You will coordinate across multiple teams to ensure designs align with program goals and regulatory standards.
What You'll Do
- Develop detailed aircraft interior layout drawings from written customer specifications.
- Conduct reviews with internal Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing groups to evaluate and finalize design drawings for external customer approval.
- Create 2D drawings and 3D models to support the manufacturing of exterior paint schemes.
- Create 2D drawings for flooring layouts and other various manufacturing aids.
- Create and maintain various drawings to reflect evolving Program, Customer and/or Engineering requirements.
- Assist Sales and Engineering with innovative solutions for custom requirements.
- Utilize C.A.D. Systems to create more complicated designs usually requiring 3-D drawings.
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering and design problems.
- Provide guidance on engineering and design projects to department personnel.
- Evaluate customer requirements and provide recommendations related to the design.
- Coordinate design work with other departments, engineers, and designers as required.
- Evaluate customer requirements and provide recommendations related to the design and FAR compliance.
- Provide technical and research assistance to the sales and marketing departments.
- Support Design Department on special projects (research, technical information, new products, floor plan development).
- Provide exterior paint drawings and related materials as required.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, Design Engineering or related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- 7 years aircraft design experience.
- Must be proficient in operating aided design equipment and personal computers.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Nice to Have
- Experience with business aircraft cabin design and development.
- Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 regulatory requirements.
