BBVA is looking for a Global Trade Finance Analyst - LatAm to join its team in New York. In this role, you will support senior product specialists in marketing, originating, structuring, and executing comprehensive Trade Finance solutions for BBVA's Global Corporate Clients across Latin America.
What You'll Do
- Execute deals, including marketing, origination, structuring, and execution of Trade Finance solutions for BBVA's Global Corporate Clients in Latin America.
- Work on a broad range of products including Letters of Credit (issuance, confirmation, advising), Stand-By LCs, Documentary Collections, and Receivables/Payables Finance programs.
- Handle Credit Enhanced Short-Term Facilities, Pre-export Finance, Silent Guarantees, and Structured Trade Finance products.
- Work on Sustainable Trade Finance and Working Capital solutions within the Global Transaction Banking ESG Framework.
- Coordinate with partners across the organization including Global Corporate Clients, Legal, Compliance, Credit Risk, Operations, and the Funding Desk.
- Negotiate credit agreements with corporate clients, multilaterals, other financial institutions, and legal advisors.
- Perform internal reporting duties, such as pipeline and P&L management.
- Assist in establishing and managing client relationships within Latin America.
- Evaluate business opportunities, develop tailor-made structures, and prepare internal proposals.
- Coordinate closing procedures with treasury and operations teams.
- Participate in marketing activities by preparing materials and statistics.
- Maintain strict portfolio management control and interact with business development units.
- Maintain direct contact with affiliated banks for funding support.
- Assist in product development and creation of alternative structures.
- Conduct independent research on corporate and industry sectors.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 0-1 year of work experience in Banking or a related field with exposure to cross-border markets and products.
- Intermediate knowledge in international banking, world economy, and financial systems.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (both oral and written).
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet search engines.
- Self-starter with the ability to work remotely.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Good analytical and communication skills.
- Creative thinking with attention to detail.
- Team player.
Nice to Have
- Ideally, Portuguese language skills (oral and written).
- Experience with Reuters and Bloomberg is a plus.
