Employment Hero is seeking a Global SEO Lead to own SEO performance and outcomes across our international markets. In this senior strategic role, you will be responsible for developing and leading our global SEO/GEO strategy, building scalable systems, mentoring a team, and driving significant organic growth.
What You'll Do
- Own global SEO/GEO performance by developing and executing strategy to scale organic growth, with a primary KPI of increasing employer and jobseeker organic acquisition across Australia, NZ, UK, Canada, SEA, and new markets.
- Be the global owner of SEO/GEO and key advisor to Growth Marketing and Product on all organic growth initiatives.
- Set a clear growth vision and roadmap with customer-focused KPIs and requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 SEO specialists who execute day-to-day delivery, while you focus on strategy, leadership, and high-impact initiatives.
- Educate and evangelise SEO/GEO effectively across the business and within cross-functional teams including product, engineering, PR, and content.
- Conduct regular website audits to diagnose SEO issues and work with SEO and product/engineering teams to implement fixes.
- Create new systems and processes that leverage tools and AI to automate SEO tasks including audits, keyword research, site crawls, backlink acquisition, and implementation.
- Collaborate with website, design, and conversion teams to create new content hubs and landing pages that are both SEO and CRO optimised.
- Develop backlink and AI citation acquisition strategies and manage team members for its delivery, including outreach and relationship building.
- Work with PR and content marketing teams to brainstorm new content ideas, conduct keyword research, produce content briefs, and ensure quarterly content plans are SEO-first.
- Drive SEO/GEO reporting and analytics for the global SEO channel, monitoring tools like GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, and SEMRush.
- Keep an eye on new and upcoming SEO/AI search/GEO trends, Google Algorithm updates, and platform features to inform strategy.
What We're Looking For
- Direct experience as a Senior SEO Manager or Lead for the last 4–6 years, including leading a team of SEOs.
- Proven experience owning SEO as a key acquisition and revenue channel for driving qualified leads at scale for enterprise/B2B websites, across complex architectures and multi-stakeholder environments.
- Expertise in setting a clear vision, defining KPIs, and driving organic traffic and leads.
- Demonstrable expertise in developing and handling complex enterprise SEO strategies including content cluster hubs, site architecture, crawl optimisation, and programmatic SEO.
- A proactive self-starter who takes initiative when solving problems.
- An analytical and critical thinker with great attention to detail.
- Extremely good at time management, very organised, and used to working under pressure with project management tools, ideally in a remote environment.
- Able to document SOP processes and train a team to execute on all SEO aspects: on-page, technical, and off-page.
- Thinks outside the box and enjoys finding ways to make processes more efficient through automation and AI.
- A very strong communicator, comfortable explaining ideas, taking briefs, and driving brainstorming sessions.
- Used to (or embraces) working in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently and to agreed deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Feels confident deep-diving into data and taking a data-driven approach to decisions. Must love spreadsheets and formulas.
- Data literate and comfortable with Excel, Google Sheets, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.
- Knowledge of Wordpress, Headless CMS, AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini), Hotjar, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Google Looker Studio, Ahrefs or SEMRush. Project management tools: Asana, Confluence, Jira etc.
Nice to Have
- A keen interest or early experience in LLM search / GEO, and eagerness to lead our GEO/AI Search strategy.
- Fast-paced agency or B2B SaaS/B2C marketplace experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of product-led SEO is a big plus.
- Interest in UX/UI design principles is a plus.
- Bonus if you have knowledge of HTML, CSS and JS.
