Bausch + Lomb is hiring a GL Manager to oversee and manage the general ledger department within our Shared Service Center supporting the South European region. This role supervises day-to-day transaction processing, ensures accuracy, and leads monthly and annual account closing procedures under both US GAAP and local statutory standards.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the operations of the General Ledger system, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
- Ensure the implementation and adherence to a tight control environment which abides by the company's internal control framework.
- Manage accounts, prepare financial statements, and conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
- Conduct detailed analyses of financial statement accounts to improve understanding of financial performance and to identify potential issues.
- Lead monthly and year-end closing procedures and adjustments postings.
- Maintain a robust system of internal controls, especially for SOX compliance, to safeguard the company's financial assets.
- Review and approve journal entries prepared by the team.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors for periodical audits, ensuring all required data is readily available.
- Train, supervise, and mentor a team of general ledger accountants.
- Ensure adherence to all financial regulations and stay up-to-date with changing legislation.
- Prepare and execute VAT and other local statutory filings.
- Collaborate with in-country Human Resources and other local stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- MA in Accounting or Finance.
- 10+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- 2+ years in a people management role.
- Proven experience as a General Ledger Lead or similar role.
- Fluency in English is required.
Nice to Have
- SOX audit-related experience will be an asset.
- Very good Spanish or Italian language skills will be an asset.
