Kana Hotel Group is looking for a General Manager to lead a hotel operation with a mission to be one of the most admired and service quality driven companies in the industry. You will have full responsibility for driving revenue, controlling costs, managing all departments, and ensuring the highest standards of guest service and team engagement.
What You'll Do
- Drive revenue generation and cost control using marketing and planning tools to meet objectives.
- Serve as a working leader to all team members, fostering employee engagement.
- Monitor and control labor, scheduling weekly, and inventory at least every two weeks.
- Participate in P&L reviews, aiming to meet or exceed budgeted Gross Operating Profit.
- Handle conflict resolution for guest services and internal team members.
- Enforce and evaluate cash and credit card procedures by company and brand standards.
- Collaborate with Corporate on all accounting, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Manage payroll submission, approval, and all employee maintenance files.
- Provide leadership and support to all department managers.
- Collaborate with ownership and management to strategize operational procedures and company goals.
- Conduct regular meetings with department managers and team members for updates and training.
- Conduct employee interviews, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Conduct regular audits in brand and company systems to ensure compliance with policies for renting rooms.
- Handle various reporting requirements for P&L, guest service, and personnel administration.
- Oversee and manage all departments daily by coaching employees and identifying areas of improvement.
- Determine staff hiring needs, lead recruitment, and collaborate with department managers.
- Ensure satisfactory brand audit scores by preparing for audits, evaluating results, and driving improvements.
What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years of Hospitality experience required.
- Previous management experience.
- Must be certified by the hotel brand as required.
- Ability to plan and organize the activities of others.
- Ability to express ideas clearly using effective word choice, grammar & tone in written and oral communications.
- Knowledge of the local geographic area, area businesses & services, major highway/street information, and community events & attractions.
- Ability and flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
