Careers is hiring a General Manager to lead daily operations within a senior living environment. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, you will be responsible for exceeding all financial and operational goals, ensuring client and customer satisfaction, and creating a positive work environment for staff.
What You'll Do
- Direct and assist the Chef Manager and hourly staff in menu writing, cost control, food production, execution, and presentation.
- Treat the cafe as your own business, ensuring the quality of all food products and adherence to standards.
- Oversee all aspects of catering operations, assisting the catering team as needed.
- Assist with food production including grab-and-go items, desserts, breakfast and lunch specialties, and executive catering.
- Maintain vendor and client relationships.
- Oversee supplies, equipment, and work areas, arranging for equipment purchases and repairs.
- Work closely with the Chef regarding purchasing of food and supplies.
- Determine production schedules and staff requirements, including recruitment.
- Handle essential payroll processing and other financial functions.
- Work as a team to clean the kitchen and cafe, including mopping floors and washing dishes.
- Ensure company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniforms, and productivity are maintained.
- Manage department controllable expenses and adhere to budgetary guidelines.
- Generate financial reports and P&L analysis.
- Develop operational forecasts and manage all unit accounting functions.
- Oversee inventory management and price fluctuation updates.
- Provide direction and manage performance of all reports, ensuring employee development and engagement.
- Manage and motivate employees through continuous communication and encouragement.
- Instruct, train, and mentor staff in food preparation, garnishing, presentation, and customer service.
- Provide superior customer service and lead by example, being attentive, approachable, and greeting and thanking customers.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree, culinary school certificate/degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 – 7 years’ experience in a Senior Living General Manager role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- ServSafe Certification.
- Choke Safety Certification.
- Allergen Awareness Certification (MA).
- Ability to lift/pull 40 pounds.
