About the Role
The General Ledger Accountant will oversee key accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting to ensure compliance and precision in financial records.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Assist in internal and external audits
- Monitor financial controls and recommend process improvements
- Track and report on fixed assets and depreciation
- Analyze account variances and investigate unusual activity
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Generate financial reports for management review
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives
- Maintain documentation for accounting procedures and audits
- Respond to financial inquiries from internal stakeholders
- Implement and follow internal control policies
- Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting systems
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
- Ensure timely and accurate financial disclosures
- Participate in system upgrades and process automation
