Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. Work closely with cross-functional teams in a high-security government setting, emphasizing automation, compliance, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and oversee secure and scalable cloud environments using Google Cloud Platform.
- Create and manage infrastructure-as-code templates using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or equivalent tools.
- Support automation, integration, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with software developers, security teams, and government stakeholders to enable efficient development and deployment workflows.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and ensure cloud services adhere to service level agreements.
- Apply cloud best practices and maintain compliance with federal security standards such as FedRAMP and NIST.
- Produce technical documentation and share knowledge across the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Willingness to obtain a security clearance.
- Minimum of four years of cloud engineering experience, including at least two years focused on GCP.
- Practical experience with GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, and BigQuery.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.
- Experience using CI/CD platforms like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience working in Agile or Scrum project environments.
Nice to Have
- Hold a GCP Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification.
- Prior experience supporting federal government contracts and familiarity with ATO processes.
- Exposure to additional cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is advantageous.
- Demonstrated scripting ability in Python, Bash, or Go.
