AECOM was looking for a Gas Power Generation Program Manager - Remote (U.S.)

Lead the full life-cycle development and execution of major natural gas-fired power generation initiatives, guiding projects from initial concept through commissioning and handover. You will be responsible for shaping integrated project plans, managing detailed schedules, controlling budgets, and maintaining rigorous risk and quality frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct multidisciplinary engineering teams across civil, mechanical, electrical, controls, and environmental domains
  • Manage performance and deliverables from EPC contractors, OEM partners, and technical consultants
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, environmental regulations, and client-specific requirements
  • Oversee engineering reviews, technical specifications, and construction work packages
  • Coordinate HAZOP studies, design validation, constructability analysis, and commissioning readiness
  • Deliver program-level reporting and executive updates to stakeholders
  • Monitor financial performance, including P&L accountability, change control, and risk mitigation
  • Support business development through proposal input, client engagement, and pricing strategy
  • Enforce organizational standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure quality and on-time delivery

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in gas turbine or combined-cycle power plant systems
  • Strong track record managing complex EPC projects from inception to commercial operation
  • Skilled in planning, resource coordination, and financial oversight
  • Experience leading diverse technical teams in fast-moving environments
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under demanding timelines
  • Willingness to travel to project or client sites as needed (10–20% travel expected)

Work Environment

This position supports remote work within the United States or can be based at any domestic office location. The role offers flexibility while requiring strong coordination across distributed teams and external partners.
