Welocalize is hiring a Gaelic Translator to serve as a key member of our Language Group department. Translators are responsible for converting content from one language to another while maintaining original meaning and ensuring readability for the target audience. This role also acts as a talent pipeline for other positions within the company.
What You'll Do
- Translate content from one language to another, conveying original meaning in a readable and understandable manner for the target audience.
- Meet all translation requirements, ensuring customer specifications are followed exactly or handled properly.
- Support the translation process by maintaining glossaries, coordinating with other translators, preparing evaluation reports, and receiving or giving training.
- Achieve excellence in technical translation through continual improvements in capability and productivity.
What We're Looking For
- University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluent written and spoken proficiency in both host and translated languages.
- Native-level proficiency in Gaelic (Ireland) and English.
- Good user experience with standard software such as Windows and Office applications.
- Experience with CAT tools.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and linguists.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Fast learner, motivated, and versatile.
