Allocator One is hiring a Fund Accountant

About the Role

As a Fund Accountant, you will oversee the financial accounting and reporting for open- and closed-ended investment vehicles, working under UK GAAP, US GAAP, or fair value frameworks. You'll play a central role in maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely reporting across a diverse portfolio of private equity, venture capital, and alternative assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations for closed-end funds, including investment ledger upkeep and general ledger accuracy.
  • Process capital calls, distributions, management fees, and fund expenses while overseeing accounts payable.
  • Support the production of quarterly and annual financial statements for investor reporting purposes.
  • Carry out month-end closing procedures, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and analyze variances.
  • Review transaction documents and prepare summaries to support fund valuation and reporting.
  • Ensure comprehensive and well-organized recordkeeping across all fund activities.
  • Independently investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and respond to ad hoc financial queries.
  • Assist in preparing regulatory submissions and investor reporting packages.
  • Help refine and automate existing accounting workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills

You bring at least two years of experience in fund accounting, audit, or financial reporting, preferably within an asset manager, AIFM, or advisory firm. A completed degree in a finance or accounting field is required, ideally paired with progress toward or completion of a recognized accounting credential such as CPA, ACCA, or ACA.

Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, UK GAAP, or IFRS is essential, along with advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office. Familiarity with fund administration software is a plus. You approach tasks systematically, think critically, and act proactively to solve complex accounting challenges.

Excellent written and verbal English skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively and work independently when needed.

Work Environment and Benefits

This hybrid role offers flexible, trust-based working hours and the ability to work remotely or from modern, well-equipped offices. You'll join a culture rooted in collaboration, mutual respect, and continuous learning, where knowledge sharing and professional development are prioritized.

The base salary ranges from €50,000 to €70,000, with additional opportunities for bonuses and participation schemes. Onboarding is structured and supported, with dedicated mentors, regular feedback, and access to internal and external training programs to support your long-term growth.
