Braze is hiring a Frontend Engineer to join our Sandbox team, a space dedicated to rapid prototyping of customer-facing product experiences. In this role, you'll translate concepts into working prototypes quickly, building high-quality React components that often graduate directly into our core product.
What You'll Do
- Rapidly translate concepts into working sandbox experiences, iterating closely with Product, Design, and Founders.
- Lay the foundation for future product code by building components in the sandbox that can graduate to production with minimal rework.
- Own the customer-facing user experience, focusing on pixel-perfect design, accessibility, performance, and polished states for empty, error, and loading conditions.
- Build and evolve component libraries and design primitives that are reusable across both sandbox and product environments.
- Instrument analytics and telemetry to validate ideas quickly through events, funnels, and A/B tests.
- Partner closely with backend engineers to define clean contracts and use mock data to maintain high development velocity.
- Build and maintain our React-based website and high-converting landing pages for Google Ads, events, and product launches.
- Implement SEO best practices, including metadata, structured data, sitemaps, and optimizing for Core Web Vitals like CLS and LCP.
- Manage indexing strategy for the sandbox and site, using robots.txt and no-index directives where appropriate.
- Set up experimentation and analytics frameworks, including UTMs, goal tracking, and split tests, to improve marketing velocity.
What We're Looking For
- 2-4 years of experience building React applications with modern tooling.
- A portfolio showcasing polished, high-performance user interfaces shipped to real users.
- A prototype-to-product mindset, capable of moving quickly while establishing strong architectural seams.
- Strong grasp of web performance and accessibility, including Core Web Vitals, a11y standards, and responsive design.
- Practical SEO knowledge, including metadata, schema markup, sitemaps, indexation controls, and canonicalization.
- Comfort with analytics and experimentation tools for tracking events, funnels, and running A/B or holdout tests.
- Experience collaborating with design systems, working from Figma handoff, and building component APIs.

- Experience with TypeScript is preferred.
