CG Life is hiring a Freelance Creative Director, Copy to lead our creative copywriting team and serve as a senior client-facing creative leader in the healthcare and biopharma space. You will be responsible for inspiring teams, developing high-impact creative solutions, and ensuring all copy aligns with brand strategy and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
- Lead, inspire, direct, and motivate a team of copywriters across several accounts.
- Oversee concept development, brand storytelling, and execution for multiple healthcare audiences including HCPs and patients.
- Champion the creative process and toolset evolution to increase quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-impact, insight-driven creative solutions.
- Ensure all copy aligns with brand strategy, product claims, clinical data, and the client’s voice and culture.
- Serve as a senior client-facing creative leader, presenting work, defending strategy, and building trusted relationships.
- Manage client workload and advocate for resources, including hiring freelancers as needed.
- Work cross-functionally with client service teams, strategy, digital strategy, and project management.
- Establish credibility with clients by developing knowledge of their business and stakeholders.
- Champion bold, transformative ideas and tether them to omni-channel marketing strategy.
- Present creative ideas to clients and internal teams, including relevant pitch experience.
- Assist with the development or review of creative briefs.
- Pitch to high-profile senior clients.
- Own the creative product throughout the process from concept development to execution.
What We're Looking For
- 8-10+ years of related work experience in advertising at a healthcare pharmaceutical agency.
- Ability to execute copy skillfully across multiple channels, including print, video, and digital.
- Strong conceptual skills as demonstrated by a portfolio of work.
- Ability to dive into complex science and technologies to glean key ideas for target audiences.
- Understanding of agency and creative collaboration processes.
- Ability to present and sell an idea to internal teams and clients.
- Ability to manage several projects at once.
- Understanding of and expertise in pharma copy requirements: claims, references, research, and FDA/client review compliance.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat tools.
