Swoon Editions is looking for an FP&A Analyst to act as the commercial co-pilot to our Finance Director. Founded to create distinctive designs that owners will want to keep forever, we are seeking a sole contributor to own the financial models that drive critical decisions and architect the company's financial future.
What You'll Do
- Own the integrated P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow model and manage the rolling cash forecast.
- Lead the quarterly reforecast process and the 3-year strategic plan, stress-testing departmental assumptions.
- Support the FD in preparing monthly and quarterly board packs, translating variances into actionable narratives.
- Own SKU-level profitability, reporting on the 'Margin Stack' and coordinating margin improvement strategies.
- Implement trading guardrails, providing clarity on trading performance and coordinating actions to hit targets.
- Work with merchandising to build buying proposals and present them to the FD for sign-off.
- Monitor the cost of failure with Ops and own the improvement roadmap.
- Build automated reporting dashboards in BI tools like Sigma and own the finance automation roadmap.
- Own monthly variance analysis on performance, breaking down variance to target based on volume, price, and mix.
- Own monthly P&L reviews with business stakeholders, presenting channel performance and driving improvements.
- Support the data manager with AI process improvements and roadmap.
- Provide end-to-end support for Dropship growth, from building P&Ls for new partners to reporting profitability.
- Join weekly trading sessions to support financial decision-making, escalate risks, and capitalize on opportunities.
- Act as a gatekeeper for ROI, reviewing business cases for new partners or Capex and providing objective recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- 2–3 years in an FP&A or Commercial Finance role.
- Experience within Retail, FMCG, or D2C industries.
- Understanding of inventory-heavy business models.
- Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
- Expert-level Excel/Google Sheets for financial modelling.
- Proactive mindset: finding risks and bringing solutions.
- Direct communication style, able to hold your own with senior leadership.
- Operational mindset, caring about how things work operationally.
Nice to Have
- Experience with or a burning desire to master SQL.
- Experience with or a burning desire to master BI tools like Sigma, Tableau, or Looker.
