Role Overview
Help shape the future of electric aviation as a Flight Operations Specialist based in Brazil. You'll play a key role in deploying and maintaining autonomous aircraft systems at customer sites, primarily in Mato Grosso. This position supports real-world operations by combining hands-on technical work with flight execution, troubleshooting, and direct customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with flight test engineers during field operations, including flight testing and customer training
- Ensure reliable site operations by diagnosing and resolving technical issues with remote support from engineering teams
- Conduct flights to evaluate new hardware and software updates under real-world conditions
- Perform maintenance on aircraft and ground infrastructure across multiple locations
- Act as Pilot In Command or Ground Control Operator for developmental unmanned aircraft systems
- Deliver detailed technical insights to improve product performance and usability
- Contribute to ground and flight test campaigns, including mission planning and post-operation analysis
- Coordinate logistics for equipment, personnel, and field activities
- Suggest design improvements and feature enhancements based on operational experience
What You Need
- Fluency in English and Portuguese, with the ability to lead training and produce clear technical documentation
- Ability to work independently for extended periods in Mato Grosso
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical teams and customers
Preferred Background
- 1–3 years operating fixed-wing UAVs, model aircraft, or large multirotor systems
- Experience with mission planning and ground control software platforms
- Background in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems (1–5 years)
- Familiarity with high-voltage systems (120 VDC, 20–30 kW), with awareness of safety protocols
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures and technical manuals
- Experience using Linux, command-line tools, and version control (git)
- Self-motivated work style with strong time management
Technology Environment
You’ll work with advanced electric propulsion systems, including flight control software, avionics, high-efficiency motors, battery systems, and custom carbon-fiber airframes. Operations rely on ground control and mission planning software, with backend tools built on Linux, command-line interfaces, and git-based workflows.
Work Arrangement
This is a local role based in Brazil, with primary operations in Mato Grosso. You must be willing to spend extended periods at customer sites, working autonomously while staying connected with remote support teams.
Contract Details
This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of renewal based on performance and operational needs.
