About the Role

The role involves creating and modifying fire sprinkler system designs using technical drawings and specifications, supporting project execution from concept through installation.

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed fire sprinkler system layouts using AutoCAD and related software
  • Interpret architectural and engineering plans to identify system requirements
  • Ensure designs comply with NFPA standards and local building codes
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to resolve design issues
  • Perform hydraulic calculations to verify system performance
  • Revise designs based on client feedback or site conditions
  • Prepare submittal documents for approval by authorities having jurisdiction
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for material specifications
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes and project revisions
  • Support estimating team with takeoffs and system details
  • Attend project meetings to discuss design progress and challenges
  • Verify compatibility between fire protection systems and building infrastructure
  • Adhere to project timelines and deliver design packages on schedule
  • Review shop drawings and contractor submittals for accuracy
  • Apply knowledge of pipe sizing, hanger spacing, and seismic requirements
  • Use design software to generate piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Ensure accessibility of system components for maintenance and inspection
  • Integrate fire alarm and suppression system interfaces when required
  • Follow company quality assurance procedures for design documentation
  • Stay current with changes in fire code regulations and industry practices
