Manage critical wildfire resilience projects within Oregon’s built environment as a Project Manager supporting the Fire Adapted Oregon and Community Risk Reduction Program. This limited-duration position plays a central role in advancing public safety by overseeing complex, multi-division initiatives aimed at reducing wildfire risk to communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of strategic programs to strengthen community preparedness and infrastructure resilience
- Coordinate closely with divisions within the Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM) and external partner agencies to align project goals and resources
- Supervise project teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, compliance standards, and performance benchmarks
- Monitor progress across interconnected initiatives, identifying roadblocks and implementing corrective actions
- Proactively address risks and resolve challenges to maintain project momentum
- Prepare and deliver regular updates to executive leadership, summarizing progress, outcomes, and strategic adjustments
Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following combinations of experience and education:
- Seven years of professional-level experience related to project management
- Six years of experience plus an Oregon Project Management Associate Certification
- Four years of experience plus a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or a closely related field
- Two years of experience plus a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute
