RSM is looking for a Financial Examiner - Examiner-In-Charge (EIC) to perform risk-focused financial examinations and regulatory consulting services for state insurance departments. This role offers significant opportunity for advancement and personal growth.
What You'll Do
- Perform risk-focused financial examinations to determine solvency and compliance with statutes on behalf of insurance clients.
- Serve as Examiner-In-Charge on examinations of significant size and complexity.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, exhibits, and schedules detailing a company's solvency and compliance, recommending solutions to questionable financial conditions.
- Ensure the integrity of the regulatory system and provide knowledge of insurance laws, rules, and regulations.
- Review and analyze new or revised laws, regulations, and policies to interpret their meaning and determine impact.
- Analyze financial operating statements and prepare clear, complete, and concise reports on the financial conditions of insurance companies.
- Consistently enhance knowledge of accounting principles, insurance examination practices, and regulatory rulings.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 10+ years experience as a financial examiner serving as EIC on exams of significant size and complexity.
- Insurance industry experience and a Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) certification are required.
- Strong PC skills, including TeamMate, ACL/Access, MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, analytical, and examination skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks using effective time management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Dynamic demeanor with exceptional client service skills.
- Must be self-motivated, work well independently, and possess a sense of urgency.
- Skilled in team building and development.
- Ability to work from home with flexibility to travel.
- Ability to demonstrate ethical and professional standards.
Nice to Have
- MBA and/or additional professional certifications.
