R1 RCM Inc. is hiring a Financial Counseling Representative I to provide compassionate financial counseling to patients. You will work directly with uninsured and under-insured individuals to secure funding for their medical care, offering clear guidance during sensitive situations.
What You'll Do
- Counsel uninsured and under-insured patients to help them obtain paying funding sources for their medical services.
- Accurately and compassionately explain financial options and obligations during direct counseling sessions.
- Build trust with patients through authentic communication when discussing sensitive financial situations.
- Communicate complex coverage enrollment information and assist patients with applications efficiently.
- Display excellent customer service, commitment to assisting patients, and strong attention to detail.
- Multi-task, using and navigating multiple systems in a fast-paced work environment.
- Gain and display a thorough understanding of Medicaid and other funding programs.
- Help patients navigate difficult times by reducing the financial burdens related to their medical care.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent customer service skills
- Compassionate communication
Nice to Have
- Previous experience as a financial counselor
- Background in medical terminology
- Understanding of State and Federal assistance programs
- Relevant healthcare experience
