Wheelhouse Credit Union is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to provide advanced financial analysis supporting strategic decision-making. In this role, you will apply finance theory and accounting principles to key areas like budgeting, forecasting, and asset-liability management, directly supporting the CFO and management.
What You'll Do
- Support the CFO in day-to-day cash management, liquidity analysis, planning, and reporting.
- Analyze the investment portfolio for performance and risk, creating monthly reports.
- Perform due diligence on investment brokers and financial analysis on FHLB and Corporate Credit Unions.
- Ensure investment broker and brokerage files are complete and accurate.
- Prepare data for Asset-Liability Management (ALM) quarterly reporting, focusing on accuracy and process improvement.
- Act as an initial liaison with the ALM vendor regarding assumptions and results.
- Summarize results and create ALM quarterly reports for the ALCO Committee.
- Lead the preparation of the Credit Union’s annual budget process under CFO direction.
- Coordinate and communicate with management to provide assumptions, information, and feedback for the budget.
- Develop and maintain the budget consolidation model.
- Create management and Board of Directors review materials for the annual budget.
- Develop and prepare monthly cost center budget variance reporting.
- Work closely with management to prepare financial forecasts and risk analyses for the Leadership Team.
- Assimilate and develop economic and industry information for integration into the forecasting process.
- Develop and maintain branch and product profitability analysis.
- Perform financial modeling and analysis projects to enhance leadership's understanding of performance.
- Analyze and prepare all credit union peer group data and reporting.
- Develop, document, maintain, and improve processes and internal controls for finance functions.
- Serve as a back-up for the NCUA 5300 Call Report, streamlining data collection and reporting.
- Act as a super-user for accounting and finance systems, developing reports and leading system integration.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with Credit Union personnel and management.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, with a concentration in finance.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills are required.
- A high level of proficiency in data analysis.
- Strong personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint).
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
- A high degree of organization and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- A high level of motivation and initiative.

Nice to Have
- Five to seven years of finance-related experience within a financial institution.
