About the Role
Serves as a financial liaison for academic and administrative units, ensuring financial needs are properly communicated, directed, and resolved in coordination with centralized finance hubs. Supports financial planning activities, enhances understanding of financial systems, and contributes to process improvements without handling transaction processing directly.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main contact for financial questions from departmental units, directing and managing requests to central finance teams such as procurement, payroll, and accounts payable
- Offer guidance to staff on financial procedures and available digital tools
- Supply necessary financial details, including cost object codes and transaction coding, to support processing by central finance units
- Track the progress of submitted financial requests and follow up proactively to ensure timely resolution
- Work closely with the Strategic Finance Partner and Financial Analyst to align financial coordination with strategic planning goals
- Identify recurring financial issues, escalate appropriately, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve underlying causes
- Assist in gathering data, preparing documentation, and coordinating efforts for budget forecasting, planning cycles, and financial audits
- Educate unit staff on accessing financial services, using self-service platforms, and adhering to institutional financial policies
- Collaborate on initiatives to enhance financial service delivery and improve communication across departments

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act and Pennsylvania Act of 1988, the university publishes an Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report containing crime statistics and campus security policies related to alcohol and drug use, crime reporting, sexual assault, and fire safety.
