National Grid is looking for a Finance Business Partner Analyst to join our Field Operations Finance Business Partnering team at National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED). This role is central to operational decision-making, using data and analysis to influence and drive performance across Field Operations management teams, supporting capital investment programmes and repair/maintenance activities.
What You'll Do
- Build strong partnerships with Field Operations leaders and Finance Business Partners to drive performance and influence decisions.
- Deliver accurate and insightful analysis to support data driven decision making.
- Shape future finance reporting by collaborating with the Performance team on next generation reporting tools and processes.
- Work with Investment Accountants to strengthen performance and insight across the capital programme.
- Promote a financial performance culture by identifying process improvements and supporting capability-building across Field Operations.
- Develop robust business cases, assess risks, and support key projects and transformation initiatives.
- Ensure investment decisions are financially sound, clearly articulating performance and regulatory impacts.
- Build an understanding of RIIO and translate operational opportunities into clear financial insights and recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified or near Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with strong knowledge of accounting concepts.
- Proven track record of Finance Business Partnering, ideally within a similar industry.
- Strong systems capability, with confidence using ERP tools (E5 a bonus) and advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills.
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and turning data into meaningful insight.
- A commercial, customer focused mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse teams.
- Exceptional analytical skills and a natural problem solver who’s curious, collaborative, and solutions driven.
- Ability to simplify complex issues, prioritise effectively, and thrive in a fast paced environment.
- Confidence presenting clear, impactful insight to non financial stakeholders.
- A commitment to performance, continuous improvement, and delivering high quality outcomes.
