National Grid is looking for a Finance Business Partner Analyst to join the Field Operations Finance Business Partnering team at National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED). You will be at the heart of operational decision-making, using data and analysis to influence and drive performance across Field Operations management teams, helping to shape key performance indicators and support the delivery of the capital investment programme and network maintenance.
What You'll Do
- Build strong partnerships with Field Operations leaders and Finance Business Partners to drive performance and influence decisions.
- Deliver accurate and insightful analysis to support data-driven decision making.
- Shape future finance reporting by collaborating with the Performance team on next-generation reporting tools and processes.
- Work with Investment Accountants to strengthen performance and insight across the capital programme.
- Promote a financial performance culture by identifying process improvements and supporting capability-building across Field Operations.
- Develop robust business cases, assess risks, and support key projects and transformation initiatives.
- Ensure investment decisions are financially sound, clearly articulating performance and regulatory impacts.
- Build an understanding of RIIO and translate operational opportunities into clear financial insights and recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified or near Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with strong knowledge of accounting concepts.
- Proven track record of Finance Business Partnering, ideally within a similar industry.
- Strong systems capability, with confidence using ERP tools (E5 a bonus) and advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills.
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and turning data into meaningful insight.
- A commercial, customer-focused mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse teams.
- Exceptional analytical skills and a natural problem solver who’s curious, collaborative, and solutions driven.
- Ability to simplify complex issues, prioritise effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence presenting clear, impactful insight to non-financial stakeholders.
- A commitment to performance, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
