At LivaNova, we are driven by a vision to change the trajectory of lives for a new day. We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team in Korea. In this role, you will provide expert technical advice, assistance, and training for our medical devices to distributors and customers, managing installations, repairs, and inventory to ensure our solutions ignite patient turnarounds.
What You'll Do
- Provide expert advice and assistance on devices to distributors and customer representatives.
- Deliver periodic on-the-job service training for end customers and distributor engineers.
- Provide on-site technical assistance to resolve complex equipment and customer problems.
- Manage your own spare parts inventory.
- Support device and equipment installations.
- Educate users and conduct product demonstrations.
- Repair installations using remote access software.
- Provide field-based technical advice to LivaNova employees and customers.
- Repair, troubleshoot, and salvage damaged databases at customer sites or remotely.
- Support new medical device connections and interfaces and advise programmers.
- Troubleshoot customer-owned equipment related to software installation.
- Work with multiple customer departments like Medical Records, IT, Surgery, and Perfusion.
- Train customers on the appropriate use of equipment and software.
- Develop FAQ documentation for employees and customers.
- Provide input on product performance, troubleshooting, and improvement recommendations.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all relevant LivaNova equipment.
- Act as a technical consultant on product development teams as needed.
- Provide backup support to other Field Service representatives.
- Initiate self-development to stay current on products, technology, and regulations.
- Provide on-the-job training for new Field Service Representatives.
- Comply with all compliance, ethics, and code of conduct requirements.
- Be accountable for all assigned company assets.
- Complete timely paperwork and administrative tasks.
- Maintain a personal development and training action plan.
- Maintain financial cost effectiveness within your territory.
- Work effectively with coworkers, distributors, other departments, and customers.
- Support distributor field engineers with training and on-site help.
- Manage and sell spare parts.
- Contact customers to provide explanation, training, and maintenance as requested.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in field service engineering or a related field.
- Ability to identify and solve equipment, software, and operating system issues quickly and accurately.
- Self-starter with ability to proactively plan, schedule, and develop your own work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively with co-workers and customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability for call 24/7.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Self-motivation, a problem-solving attitude, and quick action.
Nice to Have
- Experience with related medical devices.
- Fluency in another language.
- Knowledge and understanding of compliance topics with a proven track record.
