Intuitive is hiring a Field Service Engineer

About the Role

Intuitive is looking for a Field Service Engineer to ensure our products operate flawlessly for our customers. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all Intuitive products within your assigned territory, fulfilling service agreements and exceeding customer expectations. With experience, you will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Perform all scheduled maintenance activities, including inspections, preventive maintenance, software updates, and system upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all Intuitive products and associated equipment within specified timeframes.
  • Coordinate and perform system and hardware delivery and installation.
  • Complete administrative duties such as spare parts inventory, Field Activity Reports, and Expense Reports.
  • Maintain all company-provided assets, including tooling, vehicles, laptops, and iPads.
  • Support company objectives by assisting Sales teams with trade shows and providing customer phone support.
  • Provide feedback to HQ and participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Complete all required training for equipment and professional development.
  • Maintain all aspects of your territory, including customer contacts, rapport, and support for customer events.
  • Mentor junior Field Service Engineers on maintenance, customer service, and administrative functions.
  • Participate in new product introduction initiatives as required.
  • Join regional continuous process improvement projects with cross-functional groups.
  • Support service contract renewals as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • A university degree in science or technical engineering, or 5 years equivalent work experience, or 3 years experience with a Master’s degree, or a PhD without experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in the Market’s local language(s) and English.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Intuitive products, gained with time served.
  • Teaching and presentation skills.
  • Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
  • Proven ability to independently troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 50-70%, dependent on account distribution and region.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Operating Room protocol.
  • A track record of solid customer relationships with Surgeons and Hospital staff.

Work Mode

This is a remote position based from a home office within your assigned territory, requiring significant travel to customer sites.
