GE HealthCare is looking for a Field Engineer 1 to maintain and service medical equipment for PCS modalities in hospital and healthcare system environments. Based in the Tri-State area (50 mile radius of Philadelphia), you will ensure operational excellence through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer partnership.
What You'll Do
- Learn to complete on-time and accurate Preventative Maintenance, FMIs, and ISIs.
- Assist experienced field engineers with equipment installation, basic troubleshooting, and service repairs.
- Effectively communicate with customers to ensure resolution and satisfaction, building relationships to become a perceived partner in their business.
- Partner with the customer to recommend value-added services that improve operational efficiency.
- Keep up to date on administrative tasks like maintaining service logs, ordering parts, and managing cycle times.
- Utilize the GEHC escalation process and work with support teams to implement corrective action plans.
- Serve as a member of the account community for key accounts.
- Engage commercial counterparts to identify sales leads, participate in contract renewals, and assist with revenue programs.
- Stay informed on competitor information and market trends.
- Answer service calls independently without assistance within one year of employment.
- Comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, policy, goals, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Meet all Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety, and other regulatory requirements.
- Complete all planned Quality, EHS & Compliance training.
What We're Looking For
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR a High School Diploma/GED and 4 or more years of experience servicing electronic equipment.
- Experience with Web applications and the Microsoft suite of products.
- Ability to comply with GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test.
- Ability to comply with all customer access policies, which may include providing proof of immunizations and additional drug or background checks.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods.
- Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and possess good hand and finger dexterity.
- Specific vision abilities required: color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- A valid Driver's License, maintained for the duration of employment.
- Willingness to be available "after hours" or work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues.
