Western Digital is seeking a New College Graduate to join our Field Applications Engineering team in San Jose, CA. In this customer-facing role, you'll work directly with account teams supporting our key customers, managing qualification plans, and leading initiatives from start to closure.
What You'll Do
- Address customer requests and answer product-related questions.
- Update trackers for qualification and sustaining activities.
- Collaborate with customers to develop qualification plans for new products.
- Manage and track qualification metrics and deliverables.
- Lead periodic customer meetings to track progress, issues, and initiatives.
- Perform hands-on, first-level failure analysis to debug customer issues.
- Work hand-in-hand with Engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and provide closure responses.
- Assist in communicating customer requests to internal teams and coordinate deliverables like feature requests and required documents.
- Represent and advocate for customer needs and priorities internally.
What We're Looking For
- Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related engineering field with a recent graduation date.
- Interest in working in a customer-facing engineering setting.
- Academic or professional experience in hardware or firmware failure analysis.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, C/C++.
- Data science and analytics skillset, preferably in Python, SAS, or JMP.
- Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
- Good project management, problem-solving, analytical, and presentation skills.
Nice to Have
- Past experience working with Hard Disk Drives.
