About the Role

Capgemini is seeking a Director of Infrastructure Architecture and Platform Modernization to lead enterprise-wide strategy and define the strategic direction for technology platforms. You will guide a team of architects to re-imagine and rebuild core infrastructure across multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid landscapes, translating technology into tangible business outcomes and driving innovation.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and own the enterprise-wide infrastructure modernization strategy and roadmap for application migration and platform transformation.
  • Serve as a primary technology evangelist, articulating the business value of modernization initiatives to executive leadership.
  • Champion innovation by supporting emerging technology platforms in areas like AIOps and generative AI, creating compelling business cases.
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework, technology portfolio, and governance including roadmaps, standards, and patterns.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of architects, fostering a culture of growth and collaborative partnership.
  • Build and nurture deep, trust-based relationships with C-level executives, business unit leaders, and development teams to ensure architectural alignment.
  • Drive the strategy and architecture for an enterprise container platform built on Kubernetes.
  • Champion a strategy of hyper-automation and lead the implementation of AIOps platforms.
  • Lead the architectural design for AI/ML infrastructure to power advanced AI models.
  • Lead the migration strategy of legacy mainframe and mid-range platforms to cloud-native services and SaaS.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in information technology with a focus on infrastructure engineering and architecture.
  • Experience in a formal architecture role (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Principal Architect).
  • Experience in a leadership capacity with a proven track record of managing and mentoring senior technical staff.
  • Demonstrable experience leading a large-scale infrastructure modernization program.
  • Deep expertise in container technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms, specifically Kubernetes (e.g., EKS, GKE, AKS).
  • Expert knowledge of multi-cloud architecture (IaaS, PaaS) on AWS, Azure, and GCP, including migration/modernization frameworks.
  • Deep familiarity with AIOps platforms and automation concepts.
  • Solid understanding of SRE principles, observability, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Ability to command a room, articulate complex ideas with clarity, and present compelling business cases to C-level audiences.
  • Proven ability to build consensus across diverse teams and influence decision-making at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of business fundamentals and ability to connect technology investments to tangible business outcomes.
  • Track record of leading, mentoring, and inspiring technical teams, fostering innovation and accountability.
  • Ability to anticipate future business needs and design long-term, scalable solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical or business field (e.g., MBA).
  • Professional architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF) and expert-level cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
  • Experience managing departmental budgets and participating in financial planning.
