Equip Health is hiring a Family Mentor - EST to join our virtual care team. You will provide direct support and skill-building to carer families and patient support people, using your lived experience to guide others through treatment.
What You'll Do
- Maintain an up-to-date calendar to enable carer families and patient support people to book sessions.
- Conduct virtual sessions, tailoring content to each family's unique needs.
- Lead support groups to build community and provide skills-training.
- Practice responsible self-disclosure based on your lived experience.
- Complete thorough and timely documentation according to Equip standards.
- Attend and participate in various internal meetings and assigned trainings.
What We're Looking For
- Lived experience as an eating disorder caregiver for a loved one in firm and stable recovery.
- 2+ years of experience working directly with patients and/or their families in a care setting, such as mentorship, social work, or milieu therapy.
- Passion for helping patients and their families navigate eating disorder treatment.
- Ability to connect with a diverse range of people with varying lived experiences.
- Passion for evidence-based care and ability to learn skills like rapport-building and motivational interviewing.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a track record of meeting assigned goals.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with and learning new technologies.
- Comfortable working in a remote environment, including being on camera.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and think critically in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to work 2 evenings per week until 8pm local time.
